What Does Christmas Mean To You?

Christmas is a time of year

that I have always loved;

and when I think of Christmas,

I think of huge family get-togethers,

smells of cabbage rolls, turkey and stuffing filling the house,

ham, perogies, sunshine salad,

yams, and gravy,

poppy seed and nut bread,

communion wafers with honey,

mushrooms in cream sauce,

pickles, olives, and cranberries,

trays of assorted Christmas cookies and baking,

wine, decorations, and presents,

people gathering, talking, laughing, reminiscing,

and a sense of togetherness.

Though Christmas is supposed to be about celebrating Jesus’ birthday,

it means so much more to me;

it is a time for creating memories and being with the ones you love.

Christmas, to me, = family time and good food.

What does it mean to you?

    Christmas is heaven meeting Earth. Christmas is much more than a birth. http://herunveiling.wordpress.com/2013/12/24/feeling-christmas/

  2. I love Christmas too because of the family get togethers, but I also love it because of the time off from my day job.

      OMG, I don’t blame you one bit! I LIVED for the holidays when I was teaching. Don’t get me wrong, I liked my job in general, and it paid most of the bills, but honestly, there is nothing like not having to do anything but relax and enjoy vacation time! I hear you, Donna!

      Cheers to days off! 🙂
